GQ.....
Make a list of 3 things that surprised you about the organism that you dissected.
Make a list of 3 ways your organism is adapted to its environment.
Step 1
Finish your dissection packets and turn them into the tray.
Step 2
Using your Dissection Guides, Table Papers that you read and the questions that you turned in along with your pictures that you took during dissection to create a presentation that teaches another group about the importance of your organism and how they are adapted to live in their environments.
Presentation requirements: _____/45 pts
  • each slide/clip should have pictures (5)
  • explain the body systems that you learned about (10)
  • explain the behavior (eat, mate, hibernate, etc.) (10)
  • explain the importance of these organisms (10)
  • life span, taxonomy and anything else that you thing we should know (10)
Objectives:
1.  Create a presentation that teaches others about the importance of an organism, its behaviors and life cycle.
Step 3
Once finished with your presentation you will find a group to present it to.  They will have a rubric to grade you.

Step 1
Get into your groups, grab your frog questions, table papers, and dissection guide.  You will have to find out a little about the behaviors and body systems before you start dissecting!
Step 2:
Watch the first 15 minutes of the thin green line, you may watch the rest from home if you are interested.  Also watch the  video on rain frogs at the bottom of this post.

Learning Targets:
1.  Investigate and compare body systems within an invertebrate (worm) and a vertebrate(frog).
2.  Summarize the importance of biological diversity by investigating the importance of a simple worm or frog as an indicator species or as decomposers.

Funky Worm Facts
**In one acre of land, there can be more than a million earthworms.
**The largest earthworm ever found was in South Africa and measured 22 feet from its nose to the tip of its tail.

Learning Target:
I will identify and describe the diversity of patterns of structure and behavior found within groups of organisms on Earth and infer how these patterns allow for biological classifications of organisms and how they are related.
